Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using Dome ("the app"). Dome is developed and operated by Back After Sento, an independent app developer based in Japan ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using Dome, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Dome is — and what it isn't

Dome is a home maintenance app that helps you keep track of items in your home and reminds you about maintenance tasks. It provides organizational tools, reminders, and general suggested maintenance schedules and information.

Dome is a helper tool, nothing more. Think of it like a notebook with reminders. It can help you remember and organize, but it does not inspect your home, it does not know the specifics of your property, and it cannot make decisions for you.

At the end of the day, your home is your responsibility. Taking care of your property, your appliances, and the safety of everyone in your home is your job — not Dome's. Dome is not a substitute for your own judgment, for the manufacturer's instructions, or for a qualified professional. You use it to assist you, but the responsibility for what you do (or don't do) with your home always remains yours.

2. Important disclaimer — please read

Everything Dome provides — maintenance schedules, task suggestions, reminders, and any other information — is general guidance for informational purposes only. It may be incomplete, may be wrong for your specific home or equipment, and should never be treated as authoritative.

You are solely responsible for the maintenance, care, and safety of your home, property, appliances, and equipment. You agree that:

  • You will follow the manufacturer's instructions, manuals, and safety warnings for your specific items — these always take priority over anything in Dome.
  • You will consult a qualified professional (such as a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, or technician) before performing any maintenance, repair, or installation that could affect safety, that you are not qualified to perform, or where you are unsure.
  • You will use your own judgment and prioritize safety at all times.

Do not rely on Dome as your sole source of information, and do not rely on it for anything critical, time-sensitive, or safety-related. Reminders and notifications may be missed, delayed, duplicated, or fail to appear at all — due to technical issues, device settings, software bugs, or other factors inside or outside our control. The absence of a reminder does not mean a task does not need doing. The presence of a suggestion does not mean it is right for your situation.

You use Dome entirely at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any damage, loss, injury, cost, expense, or harm of any kind — to you, your home, your property, or any other person — arising from: your use of the app; your reliance on (or use of) any information, schedule, suggestion, or reminder it provides; any action you take or fail to take; any task you perform, delay, or skip; or any failure, error, delay, or unavailability of the app, including any failure to deliver a reminder or to function as you expected.

3. Your responsibilities

You agree to use Dome only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of the information you enter into the app.
  • Backing up your own data (see Section 8).
  • Maintaining the security of your device and your Apple account.
  • All activity that occurs through your use of the app, including any home you share with others.

4. Your data

You own the data you create in Dome. We do not collect or have access to the contents of your home data. How your information is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the data you enter and for any data you choose to share with other people through the app's sharing features.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Dome offers a free tier with limited features and optional paid subscriptions and a one-time purchase that unlock additional features.

Pay once purchase. A "Pay once" purchase is a one-time payment that unlocks the paid features available in Dome, including updates, for the life of the app. It is not a guarantee that the app will remain available indefinitely. If Dome is discontinued, the purchase ends with the app. Significant new features introduced in the future may be offered as separate purchases. Your data remains exportable at any time.

  • All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store account settings.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Prices may change. We will provide notice of price changes as required by the App Store.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies. We do not process refunds directly.

Features available in the free and paid tiers may change over time. If your subscription lapses, your data is preserved on your device, but access to certain paid features (such as syncing, sharing, and adding beyond free-tier limits) will be paused until you renew. Homes you have shared with others may become unavailable to them while your subscription is inactive.

6. Sharing features

If you share a home with other people through the app, you are responsible for choosing who you share with and for the consequences of that sharing. People you share with may view and modify the shared home's data. We are not responsible for the actions of people you share with, or for any data accessed, changed, or deleted by them.

7. Intellectual property

Dome, including its design, branding, content, and software, is owned by us and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership of the app. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app except as permitted by law.

The "Back After Sento" and "Dome" names and associated branding are ours. You may not use them without our permission.

8. No warranty

Dome is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times, that reminders or notifications will always be delivered, or that any information provided will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation.

You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data. While Dome supports syncing and export, we do not guarantee against data loss and are not responsible for any loss of data.

9. Limitation of liability

You acknowledge and agree that you are using Dome voluntarily and at your own risk, and that you — not us — are responsible for your home and the decisions you make about it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, property damage, personal injury, lost profits, or other losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) Dome, your reliance on any information it provides, any maintenance task you do or do not perform, or any failure of the app — whether based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the app or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have not paid us anything, the sum of zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or party.

11. Changes to the app and these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this section deprives you of any mandatory consumer protections you are entitled to under the laws of your country of residence.
